Online Poker -- Action Quiet This Fall Without Isildur1One-Year Anniversary of Record-Breaking Isildur1 Pots |
|
It is almost exactly one year to the day when Patrik Antonius and Isildur1 played one of the biggest pots in the history of online poker.
The $878,959 monster pot between the Team Full Tilt Pro and the mysterious Swede, whom many believe to be Viktor Blom, helped kick-start a week last November that saw two pots break $1 million.
A year later in November of 2010, with the high-stakes catalyst largely absent from anything bigger than $25-$50, action in the high-stakes online world is far from what it was last fall.
The biggest pot this past week was a $199,063 pot-limit Omaha confrontation between Phil Ivey and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies on Full Tilt Poker. Sahamies’ recent loss to Ivey brings his downswing to around $3 million since October. Another interesting nosebleed situation occurred in a large cooler between DrugsOrMe and cadillac1944 this past Friday.
Other winners over the past seven days include Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky and Ashton “theASHMAN103” Griffin. Both nosebleed regulars are in the black about $100,000 over the time frame.
On Sunday, the online world saw one of its mainstays turn 21. Dan “Jungleman12” Cates, who has been the biggest winner so far this month with more than $500,000 in profits, celebrated his birthday with a very solid past week.
