WSOP Circuit Returns to Harrah's Tunica

The World Series of Poker Circuit tour is back in Mississippi for its next stop of the 2010-2011 season. A series of 54 tournaments, including 10 ring events, are on the schedule from Jan. 27-Feb. 15 at Harrah’s Tunica. A three-day $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event concludes the series, running Feb. 13-15.

The buy-in and entry free for this year’s main event is down to $1,600 after being at $5,150 a year ago when a field of 96 players entered, creating a prize pool of $449,750. That event was won by 2006 World Series of Poker main-event runner-up Paul Wasicka for $139,422 in prize money. Among the final nine were established pros Carter Phillips, Dwyte Pilgrim and Matt Stout. Now with a smaller buy-in, this year’s main event is expected to have a larger turnout.

While the rest of the series schedule is predominantly comprised of no-limit hold’em events, it also includes pot-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, Omaha 8/B, limit Omaha high and H.O.R.S.E. events. A ladies event and seniors event are also scheduled.

Players will earn National Championship Points for their performances in all events featuring buy-ins of $300 or more. The winner of the main event will receive an automatic entry into the $1 million WSOPC National Championship set for May in Vegas.
