XWINK: Poker's Newest High Stakes CatalystUnknown Canadian Up $1.3 Million in Past Seven Days |

The high stakes online world has been a buzz over the past seven days due to the emergence of XWINK on Full Tilt Poker. From the middle of last week through the weekend, XWINK, who many believe to be XBLINK on UB, had gone on a tear, winning $2 million by Saturday mostly at $500-$1,000 pot-limit Omaha.
The unknown Canadian has been facing off against nosebleed heavyweights such as Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer, Jared “harrington25” Bleznick, Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen, Rui Cao, and David Benefield.
XWINK’s biggest victims so far have been Cao and Benefield, who have each lost about $500,000 to the mysterious high stakes newcomer.
After winning $2 million in just a few days, XWINK decided to take on Cole South at $300-$600 pot-limit Omaha on Sunday. The match was a disaster for XWINK, as he gave back about 25 percent of his recent winnings. XWINK went on to lose another $500,000 in various other sessions to put his profit at $1.3 million since bursting into the Full Tilt nosebleed games.
In addition to the action generated by XWINK, Dwan and Dan “jungleman12” Cates finally resumed their challenge after a two-month hiatus. Cates managed to win $122,050 in a brief 348 hand session, bringing his lead in the contest to nearly $1 million. The duo are 17,456 hands into their 50,000-hand agreement.
The past seven days also saw Phil Ivey continue his recent domination of limit hold’em specialist Kagome Kagome. Ivey won nearly $500,000 on Thursday and is in the black more than $1 million against his young German opponent in the past month.
