2009 Wynn Classic Poker Tournament Series Begins

The Tournament Series Will Feature 16 Prelims and a $10,000 Championship

Wynn Classic TrophyThe 2009 Wynn Classic poker tournament series begins today with single-table satellites running at Wynn Las Vegas. This is the third year for the Wynn Classic. The first tournament is a $500 no-limit hold’em event that begins at noon on Thursday, Feb. 26. All 17 events in the tournament series will have Card Player Player of the Year points up for grabs. Tournament options include no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, and pot-limit Omaha. A super-satellite day for the $10,000 championship event will be held on Sunday, Mar. 15. A $1,060 super-satellite begins at noon that day, and a $545 super-satellite at 7 p.m.

The championship event begins on Monday, Mar. 16, and the tournament series concludes at the end of the final table in the championship event on Thursday, Mar. 19. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips, and blinds begin at 25-50 to start day 1. Levels will be 90-minutes long. Past champions of the Wynn Classic include Chris Moore (2008) and Zach Hyman (2007).
