This Week in Poker

There was no significant POY movement in the top 10 this week, but Neil Channing (pictured above right) finished second in the $5,000 no-limit hold’em shootout at the World Series of Poker and he was awarded 1,440 points. When combined with the 640 points he won earlier in the year at Grosvenor UK Poker Tour main event in London, he now holds 2,080 points total on the year and sits in 17th place overall.

Joshua Tieman took home 1,728 points for his victory over Channing in the $5,000 no-limit hold’em shootout, but he trails the Irishman in the POY standings in 32nd place.

Praz Bansi picked up his second WSOP bracelet with a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event victory on Wednesday, June 2 and he also took home 1,440 points to pull into a tie for 49th place.

Event No. 3 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em) champion Aadam Daya, also scored a bracelet on Wednesday that awarded him 1,440 points. He now holds 1,860 points for the year thanks to a previous final-table appearance at the Fallsview Poker Classic in January that gave him 420 points.
