Final table, four handed, with the blinds at 15,000 and 30,000 with a 4,000 ante, Trickett raised to 60,000 from the button, Qiang reraised all-in from the big blind, Trickett called.
With only 3 of the 20 entrants getting paid in this insanely expensive tournament, this is likely the first $1.1M (AUD) bubble in the history of poker. Qiang captured the bubble in extraordinary fashion, running his nut low into Trickett’s pocket Aces. Qiang realized his deep stacked opponent would open with a wide range from the button, and hoped his stack of almost 22 big blinds would get the fold. Trickett quickly called as Qiang laughed, but the Deuce on the flop gave Qiang false hope for trips or a winning two pair. Qiang could not pull out the bad beat, and was eliminated just shy of the money after getting his hand caught in the cookie jar. 24 year-old Trickett had just won the $100,000 buy-in event from a few days earlier, and now was in contention to capture another high roller event after navigating another elite field.
