PokerStars Team Shines at Belgium Open

PokerStars Wins Belgium Open Poker Championships Team Heads-Up Event

Bertrand "ElkY" GrospellierThe €10,000 Heads-Up Team event held on Nov. 25 at the Belgium Open Poker Championships saw six teams of four battle each other in heads-up matches. The team who outshone the rest by a long shot was the team representing PokerStars. The four players who featured on the team were Arnaud Mattern, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier [pictured right], Johnny Lodden, and Julien Brecard.

The team took the first prize of €45,000, while Team Netherlands received €15,000 for second place. The players on the runner-up team were Jasper Wetemans, Bert Van Doesburg, Jorn Walthaus, and Marc Naalden.

The Championships which were held at the Casino de Namur in Belgium featured an array of side events and of course the €1,500 + €200 buy-in main event which played out from Nov. 21-29.

Kenny Hallaert, Poker Manager of Casinos de Namur and Spa, said, “The Heads-Up Team event was a success with 24 players in total battling it out and we could honour a team of great poker players as winners with ElkY, Lodden, Mattern, and Brecard.
