Chris MoormanFour seems to be the magic number this year for Chris “Moorman1” Moorman of DoylesRoom.com’s Brunson 10. The online poker pro was the fourth member to be handpicked by poker legend Doyle Brunson for his team of elite pros and this week, Moorman sits in fourth place in the 2009 Online Player of the Year rankings at Card Player.

Moorman currently has 8,452 Online Player of the Year points for his $955,781 in 2009 online poker winnings. The top three spots are currently held by Steve Gross, David Sands and Thayer Rasmussen.

With a quick look at some of the Moorman’s 2009 online poker wins, it’s easy to see how he edges so close to the top spot. His online poker tournament wins include $28,000 in a $65k Guarantee in February, $88,166 in a Daily $100 Rebuy in February, $39,750 in a $150k Guarantee in March, and $52,950 in a Daily $100 Rebuy in September.

But the money Moorman has won to date isn’t made up exclusively of just first place wins. The Brunson 10 pro has also won a significant amount of money by ranking high in a number of online poker tournaments including an eighth place finish in a $10k tournament that earned him $112,950 and a $204,000 win for a second place finish in a $300 buy-in tournament this past August.

Chris Moorman joined The Brunson 10 in mid-September as the fourth member of Doyle Brunson’s team of elite pros. Moorman’s over $1.7 million in lifetime winnings include nine career titles and 145 cashes, made up of online poker successes and a number of land-based poker achievements.

The Brunson 10 originally launched with three members – Alec Torelli, Amit Makhija and Zachary Clark – all of whom began their poker careers online and achieved enormous success at live card rooms as well. Shortly after Chris Moorman joined the team, Dani Stern was recruited as the fifth member.

Doyle Brunson, poker’s biggest legend, will continue to handpick members for The Brunson 10. For more information on The Brunson 10, visit DoylesRoom.com.
