Day 2 has ended at the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event and there are 27 players that will advance to day 3 tomorrow, which begins at 11 a.m. PST.
The day began with 126 players and action moved at a quick clip. Play ended just after 10 p.m. PST tonight when the the final 27 players remained. The field will return to six-handed tables tomorrow and action will remain that way until the final table of six is set. The chip leader at the end of the night is Phil Hellmuth (pictured right), who ended play with 530,000. Notables rounding out the top 10 in chips were Hasan Habib (496,000), Dan O’Brien (439,000), Matt Keikoan (426,500), Nick Schulman (381,500), Faraz Jaka (332,500), Brian Rast (332,500), and Chau Giang (307,500).

when Dan O’Brien checked under the gun and George Ash bet 33,000 from the button. O’Brien thought for a moment and then raised all in. Ash quickly made the call and flipped over K
J for a straight.
O’Brien turned over A 8, which was good for two pair until the 8 fell on the river. O’Brien made a full house and he won the hand to grow his stack to 475,000 near the end of the night. Ash was eliminated in 31st place and he will take home $14,700 in prize money.
