David WilliamsThe PokerStars North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event began today and the official size of the field is an impressive 716 players. The total prize pool for the tournament is $3,264,244 and the champion will walk away with $750,000. The top 104 players are all going to walk away with prize money. Here is a look at the full payout structure:

There were 443 players that survived to day 2 and the overnight chip leader is Bodog Poker pro David Williams (pictured above right), who ended play with 230,900 after eight levels of poker. Close behind him is female poker professional Vanessa Selbst, who holds 214,200. Rounding out the top three is Lars Bonding with 177,100. Matt Woodward (165,500) and Brandon Cantu (145,500) also ended the night in the top 10 in chips. Notables that finished the night in six-digit territory include Cliff Josephy (125,100), Todd Terry (115,700), Ryan D’Angelo (108,800), and Jared Jaffee (100,500).

All of these players will return at noon EDT tomorrow to begin play at 500-1,000 blinds with a 100 ante. Levels will increase to 75 minutes in length tomorrow and there will be a 15-minute break after each level.
