Hawaiian Gardens Casino Celebrating Third Anniversary

Southern California's own "Hawaiian paradise," Hawaiian Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, California, is celebrating its third anniversary.

Since the years known affectionately as the "trailer days," which began in 1997, the temporary home of Hawaiian Gardens Casino has grown tremendously. That original small trailer accommodated 67 employees and five poker tables. To a great extent, those days are missed; the memories and history will always be with those who began the journey of growth of Hawaiian Gardens Casino.

At that time, construction was in progress near the small trailer for what would soon become the new home of Hawaiian Gardens Casino. Construction was nearly complete in December of 1999. The poker section and the Asian games section shared one side of the building for a few months. Next, the restaurant was completed and opened. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening of the full and complete building took place on Feb. 10, 2000. The celebrations lasted four months, featuring an array of parties, promotions, and special events. In July of 2000, the Asian games section moved in to a newly furnished and beautiful gaming room. Since then, the VIP poker section has grown from two tables to 10 tables, with limits ranging from $15-$30 to $40-$80, and it's still growing. The VIP Asian games section has gone from four tables to seven tables, and it too is still growing.

Hawaiian Gardens Casino management and employees are full of pride regarding what has developed there in the past three years. And a new expansion has begun to accommodate 80 poker tables and 60 Asian games tables. The expansion will also include cashiers cages on the two sides of the casino and in the kitchen, and completion is expected sometime in late September.

During its third anniversary, Hawaiian Gardens Casino is offering a "funfest" of jackpots. Now through the month of March, a $100,000 jackpot is available seven days a week on specific games. Additionally, six cars are being given away in six weeks. The cars will be given away on Sundays - March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, and April 6. Hawaiian Gardens Casino is also very active in the community. It sponsors a childrens holiday party annually in the city of Hawaiian Gardens that features visits from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, Santa's helpers (those little elves), Frosty the Snowman, and, of course, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. December's party attracted 2,468 children. They all received a gift from Santa, and enjoyed the entertainment provided by clowns, as well as craft booths, cookie decorating, sleigh rides, and lunch.

Hawaiian Gardens Casino also sponsors a blood drive every year to benefit the patients of the City of Hope Cancer Foundation. Its most recent blood drive results in 60 pints of blood being donated.

The casino hosts a variety of events for its players, such as golf tournaments that feature a day of golf and gifts, topped off with dinner at the casino.

Hawaiian Gardens Casino recently implemented a player tracking system for promotions and reward purposes that has been very well-received by both players and shift managers alike.
