I Cashed and Durr Could Win It, Aria Poker When Not AT The WSOP

I had a decent day 2 in the $1,500, at least for a little while. We started with around 300 players from 2560 and busted the money bubble at 270 at the end of the first level. I doubled up pretty early when I raised from the small blind in an unopened pot with A 10 suited. The big blind had already played back at me several times when I raised in late position and I had folded. This time he 3 bet me again, but in contrast to the previous times he made it just slightly more than a min raise. I called and the flop comes QJ of my suit and an off-suit 7. I only have about 1.7X the pot so I moved in and he called pretty quickly saying, “I think we have a chop.” He shows AQ and a very pretty 4 of my suit, diamonds peels off on the turn and he is drawing dead.

That was my peak for the tournament, I wound up busting 78th, with 2 overs against a small pair. The good news is Durr is at the final table going strong and I’m pulling for him.

I am staying at Aria this week and really like it here. The poker room is really beautiful and spacious, and has a good selection of games. I am planning on holding a 50-100 no limit game Thursday and Friday night, anyone interested come on down.

I’m planning on playing the $1,500 6 handed tomorrow, and the $5,000 on Tuesday. I hope I have good news to report.
