A Special Thanks To Winston Yates

Played the $2,500 today and it was a great structure with 1 hour blinds and 12,000 in starting chips. For the first few levels I couldn't pick up a playable hand and the flops I saw were far from my hands. Eventually I went on a little run and chipped up to slightly above average. I was able to maintain that from the 330 or so that started down to 44 players, with the money coming at 36. Then I picked up A K and raised in late position to 3 BB. The small blind re-raised me 9 BB. He had just moved to the table 30 minutes ago and by the way he raised and re-raised, had more hands than an Octopus. So I re-raised all in for about 1.5 X the pot. He went in to the tank and eventually called. He flipped over Q Q. The board sent 5 bricks and I went to go play cash games. I really hate coin flips for all my chips, and don't get me wrong, I wished I folded to his re-raise, however I hadn't had a hand in a long time and with the amount in the pot, it was tough to get away from it.

I played for several hours next to a really nice guy, Craig Yates, who told me his kids followed me online and routed for me during the main event at Borgata. When I asked why he said one of his sons was named Winston. So I'd like to say hello and thanks to Winston Yates, keep up the good thoughts.
