In the Money and then out and back to LA

The day started rough when I lost the first couple of pots I played. I was able to make a good comeback when I missed with A K and continued, or hit and people called. I played a lot of small pots, and was only all in once until I busted. I made one terrible lay down against Lee Watkinson. It was folded around to me one the Button and I looked down at A K off suit. I raised to 4 BB and he min re-raised me. My read on him was strong and I was worried that he had AA or KK. I laid the hand down and Lee had 6 6. At the time I had him covered by about 80k and I would have been extremely short if I lost. Even if I called I had a coin flip to win. My feeling is try and get my money in better than that. As it turned out it was my best opportunity and in the next two levels I couldn't win a pot. I eventually pushed in the big blind against a cutoff raise of 3BB of Gavin's. I had A 3 and he called and showed A 10. A ten flopped and that's all she wrote. I finished in 39th place, which is another cash, but when there are 39 players left 39th place is a little disappointing.

I will leave for LA in the morning to start playing in the LA Poker Classic. I always enjoy the action at the Commerce, both live and tournament. I'm looking forward to the smaller Stud and Omaha events, as well as the No Limit events.
