Where did the Mirage and Mandalay Events Go?

Yesterday was an interesting day of play for me at the commerce. I mostly played 100/200 stud and was waiting for the daily event to start, a 6 handed turbo Holdem event. I never made any headway, and only lasted a couple of levels. My final hand was 10 10 against A K, I don't really think I need to go on from here. Anyway, it was off to a no limit game where I broke about even after 4-5 hours. I was getting tired and called it a night. Today there is a 1.5k no limit event which I am looking forward to playing. The larger the event gets with a larger starting chip stack and longer blind levels, the more it suits my style of play. I don't like to take too many chances early on, so being patient and waiting is my preferred strategy.

I was disappointed to hear that the WPT has apparently canceled the Mirage and Mandalay Bay events this season. I am not sure what brought this on or what the implications may be, however I will try and find out. It does seem that there are so many events that often overlap with each other that the market place has adjusted to the current environment. Perhaps the time has come for more player input into the tournament structure, schedule, and organization.

Anyway, off to play, more later.
