Out of Mixed Games, David Singer Wins PLHby Roy Winston | Published: Jun 04, '08 |
Okay, I've been a little slow on getting new material up on the blog, but between eating, sleeping and playing, I haven't had much time. Today I played the 10k mixed game championship which was 8 games, HORSE plus no limit holdem, pot limit Omaha, and 2-7 triple draw. I felt like I played well, but I have to say it was the toughest field I have played in yet. There were 192 players and I went out about 125th. I lost a couple of PLO hands where I was the favorite, and two Razz hands killed me. Both times I was way ahead and lost to perfect perfect.
Now for the good news, one of my good friends, David Singer won a bracelet in the 1,500 PLH. He began the final table as the short stack and made it to heads up, still lagging in chips. He played heads up for what seemed like ever, and David finally won. For those of you that don't know he recently won the 25k heads up championship on Full Tilt. What makes this story even more interesting is that his significant other Erin, is pregnant with their first child and she is actually due today. Good thing she didn't go into labor before he took down the event.
I am going to play the 6 handed event tomorrow, hopefully things will turn around for me. I would also like to thank those of you who have stopped by to wish me well.
