ESPN 360 Color Commentating

I played in the $1,500 no limit holdem event today and busted really early. I picked up A 10 from the button and was raised by the big blind which I called. The flop came A 10 4 and he checked and I bet the pot, he raises me all in and like an idiot I call thinking he has A K or A Q of course he has pocket aces and I'm out. On the good side of things I was asked to do the color commentary for the ESPN final table show from the previous $1,500 event. I had a blast, two of the final table players Od Dardon, who is a friend, and Luis Velador are both Commerce players that I have played with for years. It was an interesting perspective to see the final table from. First of all the question I kept getting asked is no I can't see their hole cards. That comes later in post production. It played down to three handed relatively quickly and low and behold Od and Luis were still there along with another player who was in his first big event. Od unfortunately went out with QQ vs. AK and then it was down to heads up. A new player from Boyton Beach Florida, Anthony Signore and Velador played for about an hour before Velador made a good call of Signore's all in and had A 8 vs. A 6. It always amazes me when players who have played well for almost an entire tournament and then make a catastrophic mistake. I guess I've done the same thing on occasion. Sometimes tournaments come down to luck in a big situation, but often times a mistake like this pushing all in with A 6 when you have 25 big blinds is avoidable.

Today is the 2k pot limit holdem event and I am confident that I will play well. I am considering taking a few days off from the WSOP and heading to The Borgata for their deep stack event. 50,000 in starting chips and a great structure with a 5k buy in. Tab, who is the tournament director at Borgata, does things right. Still leaving the WSOP is tough.
