Stand Fast and Play Well

The World Series of Poker is winding down and although my performance has been less than stellar, I feel that I have played well. Of course on occasion I've made a bad move or misread my opponent, but that's just poker. I have done okay in the satellites and side games and I have a few more events to go. This last week before the main event there are going to be some fun events.

I have also had the opportunity to spend lots of time with some of the best poker players in the world and have learned some things along the way. This evening I got to spend time with Doyle Brunson and discuss everything from poker to Texas to our dogs. He is truly an amazing man. I find him interesting to talk with and full of stories about poker and life in general. Also, Shannon Elizabeth has become a friend. She is writing a coffee table book and has asked a bunch of poker players, including me, to participate. It's an interesting idea and I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Tomorrow, or should I say today, I am going to be playing the 1.5k no limit event, and am getting ready for the main event. I am hopeful that the main event is going to be my best performance. Then I'm looking forward to taking some time off and spending time with my parents, brothers, nieces and nephew.
