A Bull in Montana

I played the last two events without much success. In the 1k I never got anything going and lost with a set of kings. Yesterday in the 2k I felt I was playing my "A" game and was chipping up slowly but surely. Then I had to go and flop mid set against Q 5 after he flops two pair and you don't want to hear the rest. On the positive side I played a satellite for the main event after I busted out and won a seat, so I can sort of rationalize it that I am about even for the 2 days. I played on Full Tilt last night there was a free roll for a Borgata main event seat sponsored by Wicked Chops Poker, which drew over 1,500 players. I wound up around 300th. I did get abused in the Borgata poker blog for getting a long massage while playing. Well I have to admit that I like massages, it relaxes me. Maybe I was a Kobe cow in a previous life, which would have ended abruptly in marginal way, although if you are the Kobe bull it might not be so bad, but I don't imagine they get massages. There is that old joke about two elderly friends that make a pact that whom ever dies first will contact the other, from the other side. After the first one passes away he calls his friend a few weeks later and says he is having a good time. He gets up in the morning eats and has sex, eats again and has sex again and so on all day long. The friend still around say's "wow heaven sounds great." He replies "heaven? I'm back as a bull in Montana." Okay don't worry I wont give up my day job, although I guess I already did.

Today is the 2k HOSE, I enjoy the mixed games. In New Jersey, Raze is not recognized as a poker game, so only the 4 games are played. Then tomorrow there is a great super satellite where the buy-in is 20% of the main event so they give 1:5 in seats instead of the standard 1:10. The events here have drawn a solid attendance throughout and have been well run. I am interested to see how large the turn out will be for the main event. Players are discussing over under bets at the tables and it would seem that based on that the number will be around 850. You have to ask yourself are you better running a 10k main event with around 300 players or this 3k with let's say even 800. I am curious what the general consensus is. Although I love the 10k main events with a televised final table, I think this may in fact be better for poker. More on this next time, and I welcome your responses on this and any topic.

Oh one last thing, I just wanted to mention MJ Bernstein who I wrote about and congratulated him on his win. All of a sudden he thinks he is Phil Hellmuth. By that I mean he believes he is who Phil Hellmuth thinks Phil Hellmuth is, if that makes any sense. Next thing you know he will be hanging around with Michael Phelps and doing a documentary on himself. Maybe I shouldn't have written this last paragraph because it might only feed his ego? Well if you can't tease your friends a little, whom can you pick on?
