The Commerce is Where The Action Is

I am once again sitting on an airplane headed to LA, I have to say I am really excited, I will be at the Commerce for live play and tournaments, and have the FTOP's online, what more could I ask for?

I played the first FTOP's event on Full Tilt last night and had an interesting hand with 44 against AK. I called a pre-flop raise and with a 4 and an ace on the flop we got it all in. My opponent, I think his name was DPT1 or DDT1 or some such nonsense, went crazy. He was short stacked after that and didn't last long. He berated me endlessly. I went deep but didn't make the money. I went out with AK v. AQ all in pre-flop and into every life a little rain must fall and so came the queen. The Next event Pot Limit Omaha 8 went better for me finishing in the money. I did get a little unlucky at the end though. Then I had my first real tournament win online. It was a $109 with just under 400 players. Okay so it wasn't a big event, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The Commerce is alive and well, and you couldn't tell there are economic woes from the looks of things here. Matt Savage has really energized the tournament series. The turnouts are strong and the structures improved. There is a new chip set as well, which I'm sure disappoints a few who lets just say had a few saved old chips. I am playing a no limit re-buy event today and will talk about it next time.
