Is a Legend becoming a Myth?

Wow, only 279 players in the Legends WPT $10,000 televised event. In spite of a beautifully renovated Bicycle casino and all the poker traffic in the area, being located near the Commerce casino, LA and Orange County. I think this is yet another message to those who organize and run events that what you are supplying isn’t what’s wanted. Large buy in, small field events only appeal to a small number of players. What’s necessary for poker to grow and flourish is for events to expand in size. In order to buck the current trend, a new approach must be taken. Attracting new players with the emphasis on the fun of playing and the competitive spirit of the game is a must. I really can’t wait to see what happens in a few weeks at The Borgata with the $3,500 buy in WPT event. I guess I will just have to wait and see.
