Father Time doesn't wait on anyone. Halloween night after going to my son Todd's party ...by Doyle Brunson | Published: Nov 12, '07 |
Father Time doesn't wait on anyone. Halloween night after going to my son Todd's party, I slipped getting out of my car and fell on the driveway of my house. I am sure the bottle of wine I drank at the party had nothing to do with it J. Then, two days later I tried on a new pair of shoes and slipped on my marble floor, crashing down on my right shoulder. I can't blame this one on the wine because I was drinking coffee. I was so very sore and still I was afraid something in my shoulder was broken or dislocated.
I was busy shooting some instructional poker videos with The Mad Genius of Poker, Mike Caro the next few days so I couldn't get to the doctor until yesterday. After tests and x-rays on my shoulder the doctor said nothing was broken - only badly bruised. So I was lucky there and threw away the new pair of shoes that made me fall.
Speaking of poker videos, Mike and I did four twelve-hour days shooting for iAmplify. I believe we will have the best poker videos on the market. Mike is really good teaching strategy and I could never have gotten through it without him. The videos will be out for the holiday season.
I spent all day Saturday and Sunday watching and betting on football. I love this time of year and can't wait for the NLF playoffs and college bowl games. My money is on Oregon University to be the number one team in college and I don't believe anyone can beat Tom Bradley and the New England Patriots. I bet the Indianapolis Colts to beat the San Diego Chargers and couldn't believe Peyton Manning throwing those six interceptions to lose the game for me.
I played poker Sunday night at Bellagio and had a nice win but could only sit there for eight hours before feeling tired. That's a far cry from the 'old days' when I routinely played 24-48 hours easily. I'm not sure I have ever recovered from my London trip followed by the Barcelona excursion.
