DOYLISM OF THE DAY: "Poker language is funny. Fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing."

This is the last time I sit at my desk all day so I decided to write another blog. I'm watching the NFC and AFC championship games, eating every hour, and wasting my time. Starting tomorrow I am either playing poker or golf. I bet on New England the first game and Green Bay the second, but after talking with a lot of my sport betting friends I changed and bet more on San Diego and New York. San Diego covered the spread even though they lost the game so I am free rolling at the second game.I read an old issue (February, 2007) of Cardplayer Magazine and saw where Dewey Tomko was featured and said, "The only person with a worse opinion than me is Doyle." I understand Dewey is going to be the 2008 inductee into the Poker Hall of Fame. I certainly hope that is right because Dewey is very deserving. He represents DoylesRoom and he is one of my oldest and dearest friends. Dewey is one of the better poker players in both tournaments and cash games. He is also a scratch golfer.

I've got two of the most spoiled dogs in history. Casper is a toy poodle who has, by actual count, bitten thirty-eight people! He is a lovable dog but he is very territorial. If anyone comes in our house, they are in danger. He can't bite very hard but he nips at all our guests. We finally have started locking him up in my office when someone comes to see us. My other dog is a Bichon and is the opposite of Casper. Her name is Cutie and she is very shy but both of them want it to be 'us four and no more'. They think they have to have at least two rides a day in the car. Anyone else got spoiled dogs?

The Packer/Giant game is almost over with the score tied 20-20. Thank goodness I switched my bets. It was a difference of $400,000 for me. I've learned to listen to my friends that bet sports for a living. I don't see how either Green Bay or New York can beat New England but it will be a 10-11 point spread. -DB
