I just watched Mike Swick, who is a poker player and a friend of Full Tilt, knock his opponent out in tonights UFC, which was a benifit to help soldiers returning from war with serious brain problems.

It was good to see the UFC bringing awareness to this cause and there have been and will be many poker charity events for such causes. What upsets me is that the government who sends these guys off to war dosen't take more responsibility for helping them put the pieces back together when they come home with their lives shattered. In a time when they are spending Trillions of dollars bailing out greedy corporations why are they not doing a better job taking care our returning veterans?

On totally different subject, I amused by the WSOP players commitee wanting to stop re-buy events based on it not being fair to people with less cash and somone being able to "buy" bracelets. What about having $50,000 entry fees, this seems more unfair to those with less cash than a $1k rebuy event. Having thirty events seems like an advantage to those with more cash as well. The average player is lucky to play one small event a year. Lets face it, if you have a lot of money to throw at the WSOP playing every event you have a huge advantage with or without rebuys, so lets not pretend winning the player of the year race is not something that you won't have to invest six figures in either way. What I would like to see is Harah's stop taking so much "vig" out of the prize pools in the rebuy events. News flash for Danny…It dosent have to cost $25k to play a $1k rebuy event. The first re-buy event I played at the WSOP I finished second on one bullet and that was all I was going to invest. Bottom line…if you have $200,000 in entry money you have a much better chance of winning a bracelet in the next WSOP, with or without rebuy events.
