Fair warning to bounty huntersby Lee Watkinson | Published: Mar 15, '09 |
I am sitting here in the Southwest Airlines terminal waiting for a the last flight to San Jose, for the Shooting Star tournament . I was supposed to be a on the Bay101 Jet, but there was a mix-up with the flight times I was given and I got there 20 minutes after they left. The good news is I got a business class ticket, that's kind of funny on SWA, it just means you can board right after all the children. The crowd at the airport seamed super light for a Sunday night, I guess that can be attributted to the economy. The only big deal about flying private jets is the ease of boarding, you just walk on the plane, tonight the airport security was a breeze, so the only real bummer is the 2 1/2 hour wait, but with FullTilt and blogging, that will fly by.
I am looking forward to the event. It is the first year that I will be a bounty. In the past I had always been a little resistant thinking that having a target on my forhead was to much of a disadvantage, but, after playing so much on Full Tilt where I always have a bounty equal to the size of the buy-in, I think I have learned to adjust my play to take advantage of the bounty hunters. Mainly I over bet my hands, to the point where it eliminates most of the extra odds layed by the bounty. By the time in the tournament where I will really want to start pushing people off thier hands the bounty won't be as big an incentive to call me down because it will be late in the tournament where cashing and or moving up the payout will be more important. If you're sitting at my table tomorrow and read this, you probably already knew this. If not then that it is your reward for taking the time to read my blog.
