Jetlag and poker don't mixby Lee Watkinson | Published: Sep 08, '09 |
Well I never got motivated enough to make the trip to Cyprus. It’s really hard for me to get up for 20hr, multi plane change trip. Especially one that finds me totally jet lagged in an almost opposite time zone. I have been getting on a pretty good schedule where I am getting up pretty early most days in order to feed the chimps and get a swim in before the fat ladies aquasize classes take over the pool. A trip like this would totally turn my sleep schedule on its head when I returned in addition to the effects while I was there.
Now I have to consider the WSOP Europe in London which is a much easier trip but still a brutal time zone shift. From looking at the results of Cyprus it looks like the jet lag, ect., took its toll on the Americans that went, as I didn’t see any familiar names on the list for day 4.
I really do want to play in Europe where poker is still booming. In fact if I didn’t have my responsibilities here with the chimps and my jewelry/clothing line, I would be spending a great deal of time over there.
Anyway I make myself a pretty big dog to make it to London, although I particularly hate to miss the Omaha events there.
