I am going to finally write a politics free all poker related blog so everyone can be happy and there will be no controversy.

People have actually asked me to weigh in on the topic of the month, sunglasses.

I wear sunglasses occasionally, used to wear prescription sunglasses for a while until I got the laser eye surgery. I really can’t see much of a down side for the person wearing them. They are more relaxing and conceal your eyes, of course.

Should they be allowed is the question though. I honestly don’t care much, so long as I can still wear a hat, does pretty much the same thing.

If I were in charge of one of the made for TV events I would not allow them. I think it is better TV without them, and it wouldn’t hurt participation at all.

I think banning them in open events would hurt the attendance by some of the weakest players, so I wouldn’t want that.

In live cash games I wonder how it would work if it was a table by table option? Like 10-20 no limit(no sunglasses). I bet all those strongly against sunglasses would flock to the other table that allowed them as soon as the right player sat down with his sunglasses on. As it always has been in cash games people will do what the live one wants.
