"Champion of the Year 2008" award: should Australia's main event count?
With the preponderance of great players that attended the main event in Melbourne Australia the last two years, should this event count in the COTY award? My thinking is yes. Do I have a personal agenda involved in making this decision? No, I didn't even go to Australia!! Thus my personal agenda would say that it shouldn't count. However, as a reasonable man (when I'm not a "Poker Brat!"), I think that enough great players did attend the event, that it should count. This will change the standings of at least one player: Erik Seidel. Seidel will move up on the new list, but only after Kenneth Popkin (who has kept up the award over the last seven years) does the calculation, and sends me the updated list will I know how far.
My wife and I love to buy DVD's of shows and watch them. This seems to be a trendy thing to do! I just finished the third season of "Lost," but now I will have to wait until December to buy the new season, damn! I am looking forward to my favorite show, "Heroes" hitting the air in August. I am still decompressing from the WSOP, and I need to start seeing my personal trainer soon, but I feel great! Right now I'm happy to be lazy, watch a lot of television, and chill out…
