Greg Pierson B-day "Smash Mouth"

On Friday night my wife flew in and we celebrated with my good friend Greg Pierson (the CEO of Iovation) at his birthday party, where he had Smash Mouth play. My wife and I met the band backstage before the show, and they seemed like nice guys. They told me that they watched me win many poker tournaments on TV, and I told them that "Hey now you're an all-star" seemed like a theme song on the poker tour. And it really was awhile back, with Daniel Negreanu, Layne Flack, and especially Melissa Hayden singing that song.

I also enjoyed meeting Jimmy Stafford, who is the guitarist from "Train" and my friend (poker player) Robert Williamson's cousin. Jimmy lives in Vegas, and is writing a book (fiction) this year. I told him that I would love to see "Train" sometime. He told me that I'd have to wait a while, because they're taking the year off. We chatted awhile, and my wife and I were impressed.

Eventually the party moved from the Portland Art Museum to Greg's "Street of Dreams" house. You should see this place! It has an indoor basketball court, that you can see from the bar. In fact, you can throw basketballs from a balcony next to the bar. It has a "Horizonless pool" with a waterfall in the middle. And, of course, there is the private garage with a couple of amazing cars and motorcycles. Nice place Greg! And really, I was up there to support my man Greg, and his wife Janelle.
