When Getting Rivered Feels Like The Normby Nick Heather | Published: Dec 01, '10 |
Not much to report on from the last week. I played the Fitzwilliam Card Club end of the month tourney on Thursday night, it’s a fun tourney with a ton of value. First is usually about €10,000 so it’s well worth playing.
I kinda splashed about for the first few levels attempting to build a stack quickly. I failed at this and then went absurdly card dead. My bustout hand was a perfect example of how this month has been for me.
Under the gun (UTG) limps for 400, folds to me in the small blind and I shove 6k with K-Q offsuit. UTG tank calls it off with K T, it runs out T-9-2-Q-T. Pretty normal given how things have been going.
I played a lighter Sunday schedule than usual to see if playing less tables would give me a slightly bigger edge. The only deep run I had was in the Paddy Power 200k, I busted in 18th for $1,700 shoving my 8 big blinds in from the small blind with J 6, I was called by A-8. An ace high flop with two diamonds gave me some sort of a sweat, but it wasn’t to be.
The only other thing to talk about in Ireland right now seems to be snow, as we have alot of it. I’m travelling down to Galway for the UIKPT on Thursday so I hope it doesn’t get too bad. Other than that i’m just very happy November is coming to a close as it has been a dismal month poker wise. I’v always had pretty good Decembers, so i’ll be hoping to finish out the year with some good results!
