On to Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit event with 92000 chips. The average is 51500ish. There are 27 left and 18 of us get paid. The tournament had just 138 entrants, but first is a nice 215000ish. I drew a first starting table that looked perfect, but unfortunately we broke 20 minutes in. Still, I got moved to a pretty good table where I'd play the next 10 hours. I'm tired, but I'll list a couple of the fun hands. I was down to 7700 from the 10000 starting stack at 1/200. I found ATo UTG and made a loose raise to 600. I got called by the hijack, button and BB. The flop was Ah Th 4c. I led out for 1600. The hijack instapushed for 3900. The button then thought and overcalled 3900, lol. I was 98% sure he had a frush draw. I jammed for 4000 more or whatever it was, and he called and showed me 76hh. Unbelievably, the hijack turned over middle set of tens, but I could basically break even on the hand if I held against the flush draw. The turn was the magic As to give me the stone nuts and leave both of them drawing dead. I was up to 24000ish and dwindled to around 21000. Then, a very strange pot came up. A player limped up front and then a nitty blazer-wearing twenty-something raised to 1200. I found AKhh in the SB and just called, as all three of us were deep. The limper called 1000 more. The flop was Q43r. Check-Check-Check. Turn A. I led out 2000 into 4000. The limper called, and he has to have Ax, right? Blazer folds. The river was another Q. I bet 4050 for value with my aces up. He thought for 20 seconds and called. I turned my hand over and he slammed down KQcc, ouch. I was down to 13000ish now. I dwindled all the way down to 8500 or something but then got AIPF with AQss vs my opponent's two red sixes. The flop came Kh Ts Td. The turn was an 8x, and I rivered one of my now-16 outs (Kx). I hung around and then got AI again with AKhh vs QQ for a 35000 chip pot. The door card was an Ace, and he bricked from then on. I took 32800 into the final level of the night. Average was around 37000. The last level went very, very well for me. I was up to 38000 when a stubborn fifty-something limped UTG for 800 and had me covered. I raised KsKc right behind him to 3400. It was folded back to him, and he called. The flop was Jd 9d 7s. He checked, and I bet 5400. He instacalled. Turn 6s. He checked, and after thought I decided to check. I don't really like it, but I really felt he had a draw on the flop, and obv 86 gets there. He could even show up with 76, and I didn't wanna get checkraised. The river was an offsuit 9. He instabet 8000, and I quickly called. He showed A7dd for a bluff, I guess. Scary hand for him to have on that flop, especially if he raises then we're playing for all of my avg. stack chips. I was up to around 60000ish now. With 17 minutes left in the level I raised the button with K8cc. The SB, an extremely nitty older gentleman thought and called in the SB. The BB folded. The flop came 864. He tried to bet all-in for 30000 but actually string bet only about 15000 into the 7000 pot. I thought and moved him in. He called and showed me 77, exactly what I thought he had. Brick-Brick for him for a monster pot to put me amongst the top 3 or 4 in chips. Hopefully tomorrow goes well. We resume at noon central.

Congrats to my Vegas roommate Mike Katz for finishing 4th in the Borgata 500 dollar tourney for 22000.

Also, my thoughts are with all of those who were affected by September 11th...6 years ago. Wow, where does the time go?
