Not much has happened since I last posted. I made two quick exits in the 500 and 1500 dollar tournaments at Caesar's. Both exits were kind of silly. In the 1500 yesterday this middle aged live pro guy was at my table. I don't know him by name but have seen him around grinding cash games and stuff. I was at 2850 from the 3500 stack when I found AQhh in EP. I raised to 150 and he called in the SB. The BB folded and we saw K84 with two hearts. He checked, and I bet 225. He raised to 525. I moved in for his 1850ish total. He said, "I hope you have aces..atleast that way I'll have outs," before calling off the rest of his chips. Ok. He showed KQdd, and I bricked. I was at 1175ish when the bust hand came up. I raised black kings up front to 150 and the same player was the only caller in the BB. He checked in the dark, and I quickly bet 200 in the dark. The flop was T43 all clubs. He called. He checked dark again, and this time I waited until the 6s turned before betting 300 of my last 825. He hollywooded for 15 seconds and asked me how much I had left, knowing I was very short. He moved in and of course I called. He showed me 63hh for a turned offsuit 2 pair. Ok. I didn't appreciate his hollywood when my chips are obviously going in. If you're calling with bottom pair, bottom kicker on a 3 flush board and then turn magic, I think you're gonna go with it. The river was the 6c to send me to the rail.

Last night I ate dinner with my US PokerBowl teammates at Little Buddha at Palms. It was good. I'm on the Chicago team with z32fanatic, bigjoe2003, imper1um, inissint, and jcardshark. z32, bigjoe and jon might be three of the top 5 SnG players in history, and I have a pretty decent track record in them too. The structure of this tournament is like a SnG, so hopefully it will pay off. We play tonight at 7 pm. The format is kind of interesting, but I don't feel like explaining it. You can find details at uspokerbowl.com. Our conference, I think, is the toughest conference of the 5 conferences for this format. The California conference is a close second. Hopefully we do well tonight. If we win our conference tonight then we play again on the 23rd. I've got a room at Palms comped for a couple of nights now.
