My friends Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin and Justin "robert07" Young are both in the final 11 from yesterday's 1500 at Bellagio. It will resume today. The winner will take home 230 thousandish. It is amazing what my close group of friends and I have done this series so far. Atleast one of the six of us has finished in the top 13 (with average field sizes around 350 players) seven times in the first six tournaments. Both guys are below average today, but hopefully they'll make something happen. In a Cardplayer article a couple months ago I called basebaldy one of the best tournament players you've never heard of. This could be his second FT of the series. Other people I'm fond of at the table are Hunter "HEMIpowerSWT" Frey, Layne Flack, David Redlin and Theo Tran. This is a remarkably tough final 11 given that the buy-in was just 1500 and there was a plethora of amateur players to weed through.
