About to leave for Nassau + Huge Night Online

Haven't slept. It's 5:40 a.m., and I'm sitting in a terminal in the Birmingham airport awaiting my flight to Atlanta and then to Nassau, Bahamas for the European Poker Tour's Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure. I cashed in this event last year when it was sanctioned by the World Poker Tour. It will be my second career EPT event (EPT London). It was a last second decision, but I decided I'd have fun playing one more event before school starts on January 9th. If I make it to day 3 (Tuesday) of PCA, I'll miss the first day of school. I'll then have to get creative to explain to my professors why I'm not there, I guess. I'll be staying with my good friend Eric Baldwin and my close friends Mike, Adam, and Jerry will also all be there. Actually, just about anyone who is anyone (atleast in the online world) will be here. The field should be very big and very soft and hopefully something magical can happen.

I had a fun New Year's Eve hanging out at Innisfree Irish Pub in Birmingham. I saw a lot of old friends and pretty much drank continuously from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. New Year's Day is my Dad's birthday, and my body really paid a price that day for my inebriation the night before. We had a great time hangin' out with my Dad, as always.

I played my first poker of 2008 starting late yesterday afternoon. I decided to play some HU NLHE cash games. It proved to be a good decision as I had a monster night. I booked one of my biggest career NLHE single-day winners, and I didn't even make it as high as 25/50. It felt good. I also ran hotttttt flopping like 2394823 sets over the course of the night and morning. HU is really fun and involved a ton of deep thinking, and it is rapidly becoming the game of choice as far as NLHE goes. Maybe I'll play some more over the next couple of months, or maybe not. Time to board the plane. Say hi if you see me there pleaseeeeee.
