I just finished 3rd out of 440 entrants in Full Tilt Poker's 1000 dollar Monday tournament. I earned 50600 dollars. First place was 110000, and of course that's the only spot that would make me truly happy, but I'm satisfied nonetheless. It's not life changing money, but I definitely needed it, and it helps. I played very focused poker and was in the top few in chips pretty much from 60 people until the FT. I got smacked by the deck in the middle stages of the tournament and all of my hands held, which is a must in online tournaments if you wanna win. I lost two flips at the FT which may've been the difference, but I'm obviously not complaining. I was three handed with a random German and David "DavidP18" Peters. DP played marvelously and has had some live success in the last year including a 12th place finish at Monte Carlo and a runner up finish to my friend Mike Pickett at WSOPC Rincon. The final table as a whole was pretty tough as Eric "sheets" Haber, Jason "OUEmoKid" Potter, and "yoshdog22" were there as well. It was a fun tournament, and I can only hope this is a foreshadowing of things to come. There was something incredibly romantic about sitting here in my Tuscaloosa apartment by myself and having a nice score :)

I've arrived back in Tuscaloosa after a weekend in Huntsville. I played the online tournaments there and had a relatively poor day. I shallow cashed some 1R1A 100 dollar tourney on FTP and flirted with a deep run in the Sunday Million on Stars by finishing 200 something out of 8000 entrants. I'm going to relax for the next couple of days here and then head back to Birmingham for my Mom's birthday later this week. Next week should be very exciting. My dad and I just set up a great trip down to Florida for 4 days to check out some spring training games. This is something we always wanted to do together when I was younger but never really could've because of school. When we get back I'll likely head over to ATL for the SEC basketball championship and a fun weekend, so if anyone wants to go let me know.

I just made myself a large glass of Captain Morgan -n- Coke to celebrate. Goodnight.
