Limped into day 2 of the LHE event with 7900. 125 remain of the 480 entrants and 45 will get paid. The average is around 15200. We'll resume at 3 p.m. and play 6/1200 stakes.

There isn't too much to mention since LHE hands aren't very exciting. I will say that I think I played some very sound LHE today. My first table had Tom McCormick, a good young player named Adam from Virginia, and a relatively unknown player named Daniel Negreanu, heh.

This was the first time I've played with Daniel since June of 2006 and the first time I've ever really had the opportunity to talk to him. I enjoyed the experience. I ran my 4000 stack up to like 10500 by the second break. Then I got moved to a table with Justin "looshle" Pechie, Kevin Song, Ayaz Mahmood and some other young kid who I thought played marvelously. I ran my stack up as high as 24000 but disaster struck in the final level of the night playing 500/1000 and said young kid kind of held over me in this make or break level. I was down as low as 4000 but rallied a lil bit.

There is one incident that came up that is worth blogging about. This random dude wearing WSOP gear and sunglasses raised the button at 4/800 stakes and I reraised with KJo to 1200 out of the SB. BB folded and random guy called. I bet the flop dark. Flop AQ7r. He called. Turn gin T for the nuts. I bet, he raised, I 3bet to 2400. He called. River brick and I still had the nuts. I bet he called and of course my hand was good.

Guy went absolutely berserk under his breath as he was in the 9 seat and I was in the 10. He was calling me all these expletives and telling me how lucky I was, lawl. I've never really been in a situation like this, so I had no choice but to laugh. As he was still berating me I asked him if it was his first tournament and it absolutely set him off. I never, ever say stuff like this, but this time it felt right. If I had to bet I would've bet that he was a favorite to punch me. He said, "I'd love to be in any cash game you're in," and I immediately jumped on it and challenged him to play for 50 thousand in his choice of LHE or NLHE. He got quiet. LOL dickmeasuring contestaments. Was pretty funny you had to be there maybe. I was hoping sooooooo bad to bust him. I was going to slowroll him so bad his head would spin. He busted shortly thereafter and did not punch me. Guy, if you read this the challenge is still on the table.

Congrats to Mike for finishing 59th and cashing in the 1500 PLO event for his second cash of the series. Unless a final table this event, I will be flying Minneapolis on Thursday to go to my friend Dave Anderson's wedding, so I'll miss a few events. I'm really looking forward to the wedding though.
