I busted yesterday from the 1500 dollar NLHE tournaments in the waning (sp?) minutes of level 4. Early on I double through with 66 vs KJ on J65 then I was fortunate when I shoved from the button into two blinds' small stacks with Ac7s and sucked out on red queens when the board ran spade spade x spade spade. I then got moved to a table with Amarillo Slim and a bunch of randoms. Slim is quite the character. This is just the second time I've played with him. I'm pretty sure he was arrested for like indecency with a 12 year old girl in his family or something which is fucking pathetic though and means I have no respect for the now-79 year old as a person. There was one funny hand though where he open limped the cutoff for 200 with about 3300 total. The button limped, and this lag Euro raised to 1100 out of the SB. Slim called one-third of his chips pre and left himself 2100. Flop Q22 rainbow. Euro checks to Slim and he moves in. Kid quickly folds and Slim shows him 54ss for no hand no draw and says, "It's gonna be hard to make a living bluffing this old man."

Anyway, I ran pretty bad at this table. Limped pot I see a flop for cheap 5 ways in the SB with Q4cc. Flop 544 rainbow. I lead out 500 into 1000. This kid instashoves 2600 and I press the call button. He shows me 77. Turn 7. River x. A lil bit later I shoved from SB for this guy's 1800 total at 1/200 (25) with AKo. He calls A7o. x x x x 7. The very next hand I got in with A7o in the button for my final 12 bets against the Euro kid's CO raise. He happened to have JJ.

After the tournament my dad and I ate a fantastic dinner at Lil Buddha at The Palms. This place doesn't get enough recognition. We then degen'd at the blackjack tables for like 5 hours, consumed about 25 combined vodka redbulls and broke surprisingly close to even.

I am going to play the 1500 dollar HORSE event this evening at The Rio. It should be a blast. I'ma play like one or two online tournaments this afternoon and also some HORSE cash games so I can learn how to play stud and stud 8.
