What a weekend! I spent the weekend in Atlanta for the Alabama vs Clemson football game. My roommate Tim's brother, Chris lives in Dunwoody and was nice enough to let us stay at his place for the weekend. We arrived Friday evening after getting caught in quite a bit of traffic on the dreaded I-20. Chris is an Alabama alumnus and had a bunch of his friends in town too. We played some pool and then all headed out to this restaurant called Rathbun's. I cannot express in words how good the meal was at this place. If you live around Atlanta and haven't been to this place then you're doing yourself a disservice. Apparently, it is owned by two brothers who actually won the Iron Chef television show. We knocked down a couple of expensive, delicious bottles of red wine, and after a lengthy stint in the tank I finally settled on getting a Veal dish with sweet corn. It did not disappoint.

After dinner Friday night, we first stopped by this bar Old Smiths that is known for housing a lot of Alabama fans. Afterwards, we headed over to Buckhead. This is a really cool suburb of Atlanta that is really sick and has some neat bars. We ended up going to this place East Andrews that kicked ass. We saw a bunch of people and eventually stumbled out at closing time around 3 a.m. There were, literally, thousands of kids on the strip trying to get cabs, so we pulled a Vegas and hopped in the one limo and overpaid some guy to drop us at two different locations. We heard people waited 2 hours to get a cab that night, so I guess it's ok.

Saturday would prove to be even better. We woke around noon, relaxed for a little bit, watched a little football, and then headed down near the Georgia Dome to this sportsbar called Stats. I need to open one of these places in Tuscaloosa. We had this, sort of, VIP table that actually has a keg tap at your table. You simply refill your beers and don't have to wait on the waiter or anything. They also served food. I consumed an uncountable number of Stella Artois drafts before we headed out to the Dome. Things didn't work out well for us out there. Zack and I looked EVERYWHERE for two tickets together, but they seemingly didn't exist. Finally, we decided to just try to buy two singles and we'd stand up somewhere in the stadium together. We bought one for a manageable 143 bucks (lol). This was a product of negotiating between 140 and 150, not because the money mattered, but our pride did. Then, I came up with a better idea of tipping security. We tried one woman and she seemed uninterested by the 100 dollar bill I flashed and tucked under our one single ticket. She was either really dumb or just a really loyal employee. We then went down to the lower, less crowded level and it worked like a charm. We missed the first 3 minutes, had to stand up, etc, but it was worth it to see Bama roll over then number 9 Clemson with relative ease, 34-10. We took the Marta back to East Andrews and partied there for a couple hours before closing.

Came back yesterday and made it in time to play the last few online MTTs of the night. It didn't go well for me, but congrats to two friends of mine Tom "TitanTom23" Braband and Cody "thugmoneymkr" Slaubaugh for going 1/2 respectively in the Pokerstars 500 for rather significant scores.

I guess today is Labor Day. It's 3:30 p.m., and I just woke up. The weather is kinda bad here. I'm gonna go back down to Tuscaloosa and relax before classes resume tomorrow.
