Bama Number 1 + Carly's 21st + Some Poker

Hiiii readers. It's Wednesday afternoon. School is going pretty well. After this week there are only four weeks remaining before exams begin. This semester has kind of flown by. I think it's helped that Bama football has been so exciting. I'm still kind of wishing I was on the tournament circuit, but it's been cool to be in Tuscaloosa during all of this. Of course, Bama is 9 and 0 and ranked number one in the nation after Texas dropped a game to Texas Tech on Saturday. This weekend I'm going down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my sister, her boyfriend Ben, and some other folks for a very, very tough road test against LSU. Baton Rouge is a really sick place to watch a game. The one time I was there was in November 2004. Tailgating was insane. I can't wait. The rivalry between these two teams has become very heated since Alabama hired former LSU coach Nick Saban. Alabama probably has to win out to play in the National Championship, and that means making it to and winning the SEC championship game against (almost certainly) Florida.

Monday night was my little sister Carly's 21st birthday. It was a really good time. A bunch of went out. We started off at this Mexican restaurant called El Rincon and then headed over to the beloved The Houndstooth. We stayed until closing time at 2 a.m. It was a really fun time despite the fact that it was just a Monday night.

Quickly, regarding the election. I voted. I don't feel like I need to say for whom. Poker blogs aren't the place for politics. I know you guys are probably as sick of getting your emails spammed with election stuff as I am. It's funny because everyone is a political expert two weeks before the election.

I played poker on Sunday. I did not turn a winner. I ran really, really below expectation especially deep in a couple of tournaments. It was frustrating and one of those days where you stick it in with KK vs AT and just know you're done. Obviously that is part of it and I'm not complaining. I did make a deep run in the FTP main million dollar guarantee main event where I finished in 86th place out of 3500ish? The money was insignificant, as all of it is loaded up top. Congrats to my buddy Don Eagen for finishing fourth in said event. I also played a little bit last night as I was sitting around watching the election results come in. I airballed a few tournaments then ran deep in the PokerStars nightly for a disappointing 19th place finish of the 900ish entrants. I think I'll play tonight's FTOPS event and maybe one other FTOPS event before its main event on November 15th. I may or not play the main event. Bama is at home that day vs Mississippi State and will hopefully still be unbeaten.

Gonna relax a lil before my next class.
