Sooooo it's been about a week since I posted. Since then, I've just been hanging out in Tuscaloosa. Three weeks of school are already complete. I'm really starting to like this Tuesday/Thursday classes only. I'm enjoying all of my classes except this one American Lit class that has reading assignments from the, like, 1600s. It's really archaic shit that might not even be true :) I've been really good and haven't been going out drinking much at all. I feel amazing. I did go out last Friday night and had a really good time, and I'm sort of proud of myself for cutting back. We'll see how long it lasts. I also checked out two Bama basketball games last week. We hosted Ole Miss and disposed of them by 3 in a highly entertaining game on Wednesday, and then we had The University of Kentucky on the ropes in the second half but couldn't hold on and lost by 10. Bama's starting point guard Ronald Steele quit the team last week and our head coach Mark Gottfried was actually fired today. We're a big long shot to make the NCAA tournament.

In news regarding the gym bet, I went 4 times last week and I went today. That brings my total attendance to 9 out of 15 days. Our obligation for the pro-rated month of January was 12 workouts in 20 days, so I am exactly on pace and will need to go 3 out of the final 5 days of this month. Mike has actually gone 10 out of the 15 days and will just need to knock two more workouts out. I feel so good after just 9 workouts. It's amazing. My body is starting to transform, and I wish we would have made this bet like a year ago. I'm not just going to the gym and lifting a few weights either. All 9 workouts have involved about 40 minutes of lifting, around 40 minutes of jogging on the treadmill, and then like 10 minutes in the steamroom. I've run some 28 miles over the two weeks. I've been eating healthy enough also. Hopefully this blog entry will serve as motivation for a lot of you guys to get into fitness. I can't recommend it more, especially to my fellow poker players who spend as many long hours sitting around as I do. Not only am I starting to get in shape, but I'm getting more stuff done as a result of being out of the house and active. I've sort of stopped procrastinating, too. I've said it before and I'll say it again...If I can do it than anyone can. That's for sure.

Finally, some poker: I went some 25 tournaments without a cash after my back to back wins a couple weeks ago. Funny game. I finally put up a couple of cashes yesterday but they totaled just like 1200 bucks, so I turned a decent loser yesterday over the 12 or so tournaments I played. I will say that as hot as I ran a couple weeks ago I've been running equally bad. You're never going to hear me complain about it though. You shouldn't either, obviously.

That's about all I got. Oh, a quick book recommendation for sports fans. Read John Daly's Autobiography "My Life in and out of the Rough". It's a really easy read and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I might might might go to Tunica a week from today for the 5000 dollar WSOPC event, but I'm leaning against it as I'd miss a day of class if I made day 2. I might play online Wednesday night but won't be working otherwise. The 2009 WSOP schedule was also released today. It looks pretty exciting. For the fourth straight year, I will be out for the duration. Hopefully I can pick up my first career WSOP bracelet. I'm pretty easily going to play one-tenth of a million dollars in events including the 40 thousand dollar NLHE event number 2. Gonna be a fun summer. I will gladly miss a few events towards the end of June because my older sister Heather is now officially engaged to be married! Her fiancee Ben is a cool ass dude, and I'm extremely happy for them both. I'll be a groomsman in the wedding. Can't wait. The date is June 27th.

Additionally, I booked a flight to Los Angeles today for the main event of the LAPC in late February. Amazingly a roundtrip ticket on Southwest was just 240 bucks after taxes and stuff.
