Fuck! I arrived to the $5k shootout and was running and playing great. I was all the way up to 67,200 at break with 6 of the 10 players at my table left and the average 25,000. I got back from break and bluffed some off to Jon "twistedecho" Heath and then an hour or so later a big one came up when I was around 50,000. The active Heath raised to 1300 at 250/500 (50) from the CO and I 3bet to 3900 from the SB with AKss. BB folded and Heath thought 15 seconds and then 4bet to ~14000 and I of course moved in for his 35000 total. He called and I was sick to be shown two black sixes. Seeing how deep we are, I'm not quite sure how he doesn't just find a call instead of playing for all the chips, but it is what it is. The board came JsTc7c4cX. Obviously I'm gonna need to win that flip for half the chips if I'm gonna win the table. I was down to 14,000 and expired shortly thereafter. I had 20 minutes before the start of the 8-game mix. The event began and I was really enjoying myself. I was at around 6200 from the 7500 starting stack after having a rough round of razz. In PLO, I raised from EP with TcTh9c9s to 300 and Mike Mizrachi defended in the BB. Flop Qs9c4s. Mike led for 300 and I have a trivial pot raise to 1550 with middle set on this board. Mike potted it back and I obviously have to go with the hand. He showed me two queens for the nuts, and I believe he even had Q high clubs blocking my backdoor flush draw and leaving me in a world of hurt as like a 12:1 underdog. I did not win the hand and am now 2/24 on the Series. Off day tomorrow and then back in action in the $10k PLHE event on Tuesday. I think I'll go to the gym or something. After the PLHE I'm headed across the country to Alabama for my sister Heather's wedding which I'm really looking forward to. It will be especially nice to just get away from poker as I feel like it has absolutely consumed me over he last 3 weeks. That's what I signed for though, and I know what I'm getting myself into when I come out here for the Series. SS
