As I write this I'm laid over at Chicago-Midwest awaiting my connection back to Vegas. My sister's wedding was just perfect. I arrived back Thursday night. I hadda go to the Apple Store to get my phone fixed, and afterwards my Mom and I grabbed some dinner at PF Chang's. On Friday I woke up and lounged around for a little while and then got ready for the rehearsal dinner later that night. The rehearsal went smoothly and then we headed over to a friend of Ben's family who was nice enough to host the dinner for us. Some 80 people came out and we enjoyed a barbecue catered meal whilst putting away 2 kegs of beer.
Saturday I woke up around noon and hadda immediately get ready to go get pictures done. Hung out with the groomsmen for a while and then the ceremony started. It was really cool to see how happy my sister was during the ceremony. In turn, I'm obviously extremely happy. I almost cried. Ben kicks ass, and I couldn't be happier for them.
The real fun would start soon after at the reception. My sis found this awesome loft in downtown Birmingham. Collectively, we put away like 35 cases of beer and 30 bottles of wine and enjoyed some really good food and dancing. It was great to see a bunch of old faces and I really appreciated everyone coming out. After the reception, we continued the party at my favorite bar in Birmingham, Nana Funks.
I overslept my 10 a.m. flight this morning and caught the 5 p.m. I'll be back in action tomorrow in the $1500 NLHE event. There are just two more preliminary events, a few days off, and then the $10,000 Main Event.
Officially, I have 2 cashes through the first 26 events and am down $60,372 dollars in tournament buy-ins. I've had poker related business ventures that have made me $49,103 and am up $56,500 online since the series started. Somehow that leaves me up $45,321 since the series has started. That's not a bad figure for the month considering how poorly I feel like everything has gone.
