I'm on to day 2 of the WSOP Main Event with 26,325. The starting stack was 30,000 and the average will probably be like 43k going into day 2. Still, we're very deep and blinds are just 250/500 (50) when we resume on Wednesday. I arrived to find a table with one of the best NLHE players in the world, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond to my direct right and another great player Scott "mastr" Seiver across the table. There was also a young Californian named Joseph Baldwin two to my left that held over me and played wonderfully all day long. The first two levels not too much happened and I had about 37,000. In level 3 it was folded to Phil and he raised the SB to 900 at 150/300. I called in the BB with Qc9d. Flop 962 two spades.Phil led 1100, I raised to 3300 and he called. Turn 9h. He checkcalled 4700. River 4s kinda yuck. I was happy to see Phil very quickly check. I thought 15 seconds and then moved him in for his 15400 in the pot of 17800. The ESPN cameras arrived and Phil thought a full 6 minutes before calling all-in. My trip nines were good and I was up to 67000. I took 59000 to dinner and then came back and played a very quiet level 4. I entered the final level of the night with 56000ish. On the very first hand of the final two hour level, I opened to 1200 from EP with KQo at 200/400 (50). A guy called in MP and we took Q65r. I bet 1900 he called. Turn 6. I checked, guy moved in 8325 into 7250 and I quickcalled. He showed me two eights, and unfortunately he rivered an 8 for the winner. Shortly after, I lost a pot where I thought this dude was playing with my balls so I called his reraise in position with AQcc. Flop K75 one club I floated. Turn A. Check-Check. River 4. He bet 10,000 into 20,000 and I came very close to making a big fold but couldn't pull the trigger and paid off his AK. Back in action Wednesday at noon. I learned that my WPT Championship episode aired today, so look for that all week long on FSN. Check local listings I guess. SS
