Three Weeks of School Complete, Bama vs VT this Weekend

I blinked and all of a sudden three weeks of school are complete. Things are going ok. The classes are bearable. All of these Management classes require a bunch of group work, so I've joined teams in all 5 of my classes. Usually this group work is pretty annoying, but what can you do? It'll be cool to meet some new people. Last weekend in North Dakota for Cody and Renee's wedding was awesome. ND was a really peaceful place that kind of reminded me of Alabama. On Friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner and then out to the bars. Saturday we put down about 15 beers and 15 shots after the ceremony at the rehearsal and then went to a bonfire at Renee's parents' house, and on Sunday we woke up late then went over to Cody's mom's house for a nice barbecue. It was a memorable time that I know won't soon forget. Tonight I'm headed up to Birmingham to go to my sister's husband's brother Patrick's wedding reception. Tomorrow I'll head over to neutral Atlanta to watch #5 Alabama football vs. #7 Virginia Tech in what will be a huge, exciting game. It's hard to believe football season is here. I, for one, am extremely pumped. The only poker I've been playing has been some more of the 7game mix. I decided I'm not going to play any 1/200 and stick to mainly 40/80 until I feel extremely confident in all 7 games. I've been getting mostly brutalized. I'm pretty sure I'm playing stud and stud 8 poorly, and sadly I am running way, way below expectation in PLO, a game that easily has the most variance in this format. Still, I can run and play badly for a long, long time at 40/80 before I even notice a dent in my bankroll, and I'm very willing to pay for the education. Poker as a whole has been miserable since my final table at the WPT Championship in April, but obviously when you bink a final table like that you're gonna post a huge winner for the year almost no matter what. That's all. Blog entries will continue to be infrequent as I'm pretty busy at the moment. SS
