When there is a line to checkout at the grocery store, I usually grab a magazine from the store shelf and peruse it while I am waiting. I ran across an article called “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me.” Apparently, this is an ongoing column in which Hollywood celebrities reveal a lot about themselves. I kind of like this idea so I started making notes about myself that many people don’t know.

In no particular order, I’ve written down some facts pertaining to my life. Warning: There isn’t much poker content herein, so it’s okay with me if you decide to skip this blog and wait for the next one.

1. I’ve traveled to more than 130 countries.
2. My first job was making beds in a hospital.
3. An elephant once gave me a massage.
4. Kenya is my favorite vacation spot; Thailand is second.
5. My nomination for the next Poker Hall of Fame candidate is Nolan Dalla.
6. I love to dance!
7. Public speaking used to terrify me…now I love it!
8. My father spent his adult life in the Air Force – that makes me an “Air Force Brat.”
9. I speak three languages.
10. I got married at the age of 19.
11. I hate wearing shoes.
12. My favorite hobbies are cruising, poker, and theater.
13. Survivor is my favorite TV show.
14. I hate drama!
15. I love to shop – especially at swap meets, garage sales, and the 99-cent store.
16. I don’t like spicy food
17. My father talked me into playing poker when I turned 21.
18. I’ve been on almost 200 cruises.
19. I have co-written three poker books.
20. I walk at least 10,000 steps a day.
21. Lasagna is my specialty when it comes to cooking.
