This past weekend was full of great experiences and I hated to see it end. Of course I am referring to the Nevada State Ladies Poker Championship held at the beautiful Peppermill Reno Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada.

It was great meeting so many new players and renewing friendships with so many people I don’t get to see everyday. Card room manager Mike Nelson seemed to be on hand 24 hours a day making sure his guests had a great poker experience. Poker host Jimmy Horikawa did a great job of attending to players’ needs. In fact, special thanks are in order for the entire poker room personnel. The poker room at the Peppermill features great amenities for its players. The chairs are extremely comfortable and there is plenty of room to walk between the tables. Complimentary snacks and a self-serve beverage bar are available for anyone in the poker room.

The LIPS staff (Ladies International Poker Series) worked hard all weekend to make sure everyone was having fun … good job Lupe, Angela, Gina, and Kittie. The tournaments and live games were well run and the dealers are among the best group I’ve seen.

My highlights for the weekend included hosting the poker seminar and the meet-and-greet, making the final table in three out of three tournaments, hanging out with friends, seeing so many terrific female players, enjoying my beautiful room in the Tuscany Tower, and walking around the lake behind the Peppermill.

I can’t say it enough – Life is good!
