The last time I wrote, I was getting ready to go to the Commerce for a little poker. I have been there twice since then. On my first trip, I enjoyed a lot of success. I won every day that I played. No big wins, but steady. I played mostly limit hold’em and limit 2-7 triple draw.

The second trip to the commerce was a different story. I had two decent sized loses to start the trip out. Then I won the next two days. Between the two trips, I am even for the year.

My next poker adventure will be this weekend. I am going to Thunder Valley to play in the Poker Night in America tournament and their televised cash game. The tournament is a $1650 buy-in NL hold’em event. The cash games are 25-50 NL, with a buy-in range from $5k to $20k. This is the third time I have been invited and I have really enjoyed the experience the last two times, so I am going again. It is a fun group of guys.

The cash game will live stream on a 30 minute delay and be edited for television in the future. I will tweet (@RepPorter) when I will be on the live stream in case any of you are interested in watching it.

On the second trip to the Commerce, I had the pleasure of being a guest speaker for the Commerce Poker School. It is the 3rd year that I have talked to them and I really enjoy it. The room is full of people who really want to learn about poker and they ask a lot of interesting questions. Every time I am in an open forum like that, I realize how much people really enjoy poker and want to be better at it.

Speaking of open forums, The Poker Academy’s next Q&A is scheduled for tomorrow at 6 o’clock and will cover session 3. You can still sign up here. There have been a lot of enthusiasm and great questions so far. I am looking forward to another fun discussion tomorrow.
