The 2011 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship is set to kick off on Friday, Mar. 4 and run until Mar. 6 with 64 big-name players attending.
The Europeans taking part in the $25,000 single-elimination invitational tournament are Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Liv Boeree, James Bord, Nicolas Chouity, Peter Eastgate, Bertrand Grospellier, Gus Hansen, and Annette Obrestad.
They will sit down beside familiar names such as Dan “jungleman12” Cates, 2010 Card Player POY Thomas Marchese, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, and the likes of celebrities Jason Alexander and Don Cheadle.
With the prize pool bulging at $1.8 million, the field will be vying for the first-place prize of $750,000, with second place receiving $300,000.
