This week’s Euro Tweets Of The Week should probably drop the “Euro” as most of the Twitter action took place elsewhere recently. The main news, which has been flooding the wires, and social media in general, is that the founders of three major online poker sites have been indicted for bank fraud. Card Player will bring you regular updates on the situation which has seen Full Tilt and PokerStars suspend their U.S. real money services.
On a lighter note, on Apr. 10, Daniel Negreanu tweeted about his bust out from the North American Poker Tour. Doyle Brunson was quick to comment and tweeted, “Go back and play the way you used to. I know you don’t think so, but you were much better…IMO” Negreanu’s response was simply, “yet one more thing we completely disagree on :-)”
After speaking about how he has made a profit in tournaments for 11 years straight, Negreanu then told Brunson, “you must be really bored btw, needling a guy right after he busts from a tourney! I’ll remember to get you next time you bust :-)”
Brunson replied, “In your wildest imagination you can’t believe how bored and useless I feel. I may never go bust in another tourny, guess why?” Negreanu probed him for more information but Brunson didn’t tweet any further about this mysterious comment.
The amazing back-to-back double duo success of PokerStars Team Pro players Jason Mercier and Vanessa Selbst in their respective North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun events provoked a good deal of response over the past few days. After his win, Mercier tweeted, “Boom. Won it. Got it in with 13 outs and binked. Back to back son! Win #10 baby!!!”
Vanessa Selbst said, "Lol @Jasonmercier what a hero. Congrats u the best obv!” She later wrote, “Thanks to everyone for all the love… it feels pretty incredible right now. Back to back at Partouche ONE TIME? :D”
Joe Sebok’s feelings on the matter were, “if @JasonMercier + @VanessaSelbst had a child, it would cure cancer, force world peace & make perfect ice cream sundae…”
