On Friday, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom cashed for the first time in an event at the summer World Series of Poker. Later in the day after busting Event No. 16 ($1,500 six-handed no-limit hold’em) in 151st for $2,706, the online pro sat down for some live $50-$100-$200 pot-limit Omaha in the Rio’s cash game room.
Blom, who has won and lost millions on the virtual felt, grinded in the busy high-limit section of the Pavilion. He played with the likes of Brian Rast, Ayaz Mahmood, Rami Boukai and Ryan Lenaghan.
Blom stacked Lenaghan for about $5,000 after rivering a full house on a board of 10 9 5 A 9. Blom had the 10 9 in his hand. Lenaghan mucked without showing.
The PokerStars sponsored player sat with a large stack of $100 bills and an asortment of chips, and appeared to have everyone covered other than Rast. The game is uncapped. Big-bet games at the Rio have been up to $500-$1,000 in stakes.
Other grinders such as Ben Lamb, David Benefield and Andrew Robl have also been in action.
Blom is down nearly $1.5 million this year in online cash games, according to HighstakesDB. However, the 21-year-old Swede has won about $1.7 million in tournaments so far in 2012.
